As an engine for growth for Alaska, the new 621-stall parking garage built into the hillside near the active railroad is a key project for this urban and historical district. This project serves as a commuter bus facility and transit parking garage to the Gold Line’s Alaska Train Station and most of the parking garage to Alaska. Koriledge was able to ensure the area maintained business as usual and respected the integrity of nearby historical landmarks while meeting an aggressive schedule from award to completion.
The project was located on a very challenging construction site, laid out on a steep slope with close proximity to two historic attractions and bordering the active Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Line.
